I came really close that time:
California was my hands...
92 Nobel prize winners!
Maybe I can snag one
bring it home
Imagine my dad
finally bursting with pride
not over some small dreams
No! That was big
That was Berkeley, San Francisco
where I’d wipe away
every trace of dirt
every misstep
But then I blew it
Not even close I got to a PhD degree
Back to Brazil my holy land
back to the history of my home
After a couple months in the south
I returned the right way to California
but to a world alive in it
to work with so many cultures
stories about the true California
finally in my hands
What a hell of a journey
MIT, Harvard, UC
became faded old dreams
My reality became somewhere else:
Egypt, Austria, France, Bolivia
United States, Uruguay, Argentina...
Peru in the Sacred Valley
where I learnt
to accept life as a gift
Yet, here I am
loving what I love
thinking
researching
lecturing
biking
dancing
organizing
dreaming of a better world
just because I want to
Am I zen?
I’ve always been a bit different
I went to grab some bread from the bakery
three guys jumped on me
took my money and clothes
I came back home in my underwear
I was just 10
They tried to take hope from me
They tried to steal my dignity
snatched away my great vision
What a hell of a journey
I’m here
loving to read the poets
letting my soul flow down
rivers of images and sounds
I will do it all again
Dear Nietzsche
Are you listening to me?
I’ll do it again and again
I’ll live this forever
That’s my journey
not better that I am
impossible to be less
Just my love
pulsing like a little bird
craving to fly again
